The Lodging Tax Advisory Committee agreed to recommend full funding for a wine-train event intended to showcase Snoqualmie Valley wineries and curated visitor experiences.
An organizer (Speaker 3) described the proposal as an experience-focused event aimed at spotlighting valley wineries and breweries and said the funding would support marketing and programming that differentiates the event from more crowded wine regions. "We want this to be Experience. More unique experience," the organizer said.
Committee members said the event appeals to a different audience than other local festivals and voted to support the request, with at least one member explicitly saying, "I vote for full funding." The recommendation will be forwarded to city council with other LTAC recommendations.
Members noted the event’s potential to bring weekday or off-peak visitors and to cross-promote nearby destinations, and asked organizers to pursue partnerships with local restaurants and nonalcoholic options to broaden appeal.
