The Douglas County Board of County Commissioners voted unanimously on Nov. 3 to rezone approximately 115 acres at 9998 South Perry Park Road from rural residential to Agricultural-1.
Trevor Bedford, senior planner, said the property is subject to a conservation easement that restricts future subdivision and that rezoning to Agricultural-1 would better align the parcel with the conservation easement and the Douglas County Comprehensive Master Plan. "The request is for a zone map change from rural residential to agricultural 1 for approximately 115 acres," Bedford said.
Staff reported no objections from referral agencies and that Douglas County Open Space and Natural Resources supported the request. The Planning Commission recommended approval 9–0 and no members of the public spoke at the planning hearing. A commissioner moved to approve the map change; a second was recorded and the motion carried unanimously.
County staff noted the applicant owns adjacent parcels totaling about 198 acres; 115 acres were currently zoned rural residential and the remainder agricultural 1.
