Summary
The recommending committee voted Nov. 3 to forward an administrative ordinance adopting the Desert Pines development agreement, which includes standards and design guidelines for a mixed-use, mixed-income community of 1,566 units on roughly 95 acres.
The Las Vegas recommending committee on Nov. 3 recommended approval of an administrative ordinance to adopt the Desert Pines development agreement and associated development standards.
Peter Lowenstein, city staff, told the committee that City Council previously approved the Desert Pines development agreement in July and that the ordinance before the recommending committee is the administrative step required by state law. "As you will remember, city council approved the Desert Pines development agreement in July," Lowenstein said. He described the project as a mixed-use, mixed-income master-plan community consisting of 1,566 units on approximately 95 acres.
Jennifer Lazovich, representing the project team, said she appreciated the city's continued partnership on the development agreement and offered to answer questions. Councilwoman Olivia Diaz, the bill sponsor, said she was "super excited" that the committee was establishing the standards staff had been working on for the 95-acre development and moved to recommend approval.
The committee voted to forward the administrative ordinance to City Council; the chair said the item will be heard on Nov. 19, 2025. No public speakers asked to comment during the recommending-committee meeting.
