At its Oct. 30 workshop, the Tiverton Planning Board directed staff to tidy administrative provisions in the proposed zoning and subdivision package: design standards will be moved into the subdivision regulations, the ordinance will reference the town’s building‑permit fee schedule rather than naming a fixed dollar amount for fence permits, and staff will produce consolidated Development Plan Review (DPR) and minor‑development checklists.
Planner explained that some checklists embedded in earlier drafts created inconsistencies that could allow incomplete applications to advance; to avoid that, staff will create user‑friendly, consolidated checklists and add a waiver checklist for items that may not apply. The board also discussed website links and form references to ensure the public-facing materials are accurate and accessible.
On vesting, staff tightened language to make 'substantially complete' hinge on issuance of a certificate of completion, reducing ambiguity about when project rights vest. The board scheduled follow‑ups and public‑hearing steps: an advisory zoning discussion on Nov. 6 and a public hearing for the subdivision/regulation package in early December.
The board closed the workshop without formal votes and thanked staff and counsel for work on the comprehensive amendments.
