Peoria County health committee adopts recommended budget after amendment for Hannah City Work Camp remediation

They described a net reduction of about 10.26 FTE in county health committee staffing, driven by clinic transitions (the dental clinic is now run by OSF), prior vacancies, and some positions moving to contractual arrangements for grant-funded projects. Staff also cited offsets including collective bargaining salary adjustments and a 9.1% increase in health insurance costs that reduced net personnel savings.
Member Williams proposed an amendment to add $500,000 from reserves (solid waste fund) for abatement and remediation at Hannah City Work Camp buildings, noting an earlier $250,000 adjustment in the capital budget. The committee voted on the amendment and the chair recorded the amendment vote as unanimous; the committee then voted to adopt the budget as amended (also recorded as unanimous).
