Committee members said they understand the golf course typically is not a profit center but said they expect it to approach break-even. Speaker 2 asked, "what is an acceptable loss on the golf course?" and multiple members suggested a budgeting goal of zero or near-zero net operations, with a 2-3 year plan to reach that target. Members also noted the golf course generates broader local spending that supports sales tax and hotel and other local businesses.
