Gateway highlights food distribution, Veterans Day tribute and student athletics

The administration announced a canned goods and nonperishable drop‑off event on Nov. 11 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Convention Center, coordinated with local food banks. Staff said Gateway's regular food distribution occurs the second Wednesday of each month; no registration is required and the district will provide a contact phone number on flyers and social media.
Buildings and grounds showed a mock‑up of a Veterans Day tribute wall to be placed in the auditorium lobby and confirmed a Veterans Day tribute event on Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. open to veterans of Monroeville and Pitcairn.
Administrators introduced Ray Francis as the new assistant principal at the high school and commended high school counselors for organizing a career fair with more than 50 colleges and post‑secondary providers. Athletics staff congratulated sophomore Piper Munyan, who placed second at the championship meet and qualified for the state meet in Hershey.
Staff asked attendees to be mindful of event lineups and not to arrive early; gates will open at 6 p.m. and patrons were asked not to line up before 4:30 p.m. to avoid congestion with after‑school activities.
