Hoffman Estates board approves consent agenda including demolition contract, inspection services, ComEd license and multimodal plan

The Hoffman Estates Village Board on Oct. 20 approved its consent agenda and a series of routine actions, including a schedule of bills totaling $6,390,634.09, a resolution for construction inspection services with BLA not to exceed $164,580, a license agreement with Commonwealth Edison for underground electric distribution in Beverly Road, and adoption of the village’s multimodal transportation plan.

The consent agenda also included the demolition services resolution for the Fire Station 22 site (the committee-recommended Donegal Services award) and was adopted by roll call. During the roll call trustees recorded “aye” for the consent package and the chair declared the motion carried.

The board accepted a resignation from a member of the Sustainability Commission (name in the record unclear) and appointed Deepak Bhojwani to the Sustainability Commission by voice vote. The mayor and trustees also read and adopted a proclamation recognizing October 2025 as Cybersecurity Awareness Month; the mayor praised IT staff and the village IT director, Derek, accepted recognition and urged vigilance.

Committee reports and community events were noted, including the Coffee with the Board, Zine Fest and recent fire department open houses. During public comment a question about the timing of property tax bills drew responses that there was not yet a confirmed date. The meeting adjourned after a final unanimous vote.
