Commission signs off on payroll, vouchers, business licenses and routine county items

Duchesne County commissioners approved a slate of routine consent and administrative items during their Nov. 3 meeting, including payroll, vouchers, business licenses, tax adjustments and surplus declarations.
Payroll: Jamie Park, payroll specialist, reported payroll for the pay period ending Oct. 25, 2025, showing 219 employees paid and total payroll disbursements of $663,091.51. Park noted the county is moving health-premium payments for PHP to an ACH debit on the fifth of each month; commissioners approved payroll as presented.
Business licenses: The Clerk's Office recommended and the commission approved licenses for two new businesses: Tiffany's Picks LLC (a Roosevelt-based grocery delivery service) and Fruitland Woodworks LLC (custom woodworking by Chad Pearson). Both businesses met local registration and food-handler requirements as applicable.
Vouchers, tax adjustments and abatements: The board approved vouchers presented for Nov. 3, authorized tax adjustments tied to parcel corrections and approved tax abatements as presented. Staff discussed an instance where a garage had been assigned to the wrong parcel and would be moved to the correct account.
Surplus property: Facilities requested a number of items, including treadmills and other equipment, be declared surplus for disposal or salvage; the board approved the surplus declaration.
Commissioners recorded motions and unanimous voice votes on these consent items; no additional funding allocations or controversial issues were raised in these agenda items.
