The Laredo Veterans Affairs Committee on Nov. 4 approved the October 2025 meeting minutes and unanimously voted to cancel its December meeting, a recurring practice for the body.
During procedural business the chair asked for a motion to approve the October minutes; following a motion and second the chair stated the motion passed unanimously. Later in the meeting the committee considered a motion to cancel the December meeting; the motion and second carried and the chair again said the motion passed unanimously.
Committee members and nonprofit representatives used the meeting to announce several upcoming veteran-related events: a nonprofit pop-up fundraiser on Nov. 15 to raise operating funds; a Veterans Day event on Nov. 7 and a food drive on Nov. 13 reported by the VA Laredo outpatient clinic; and the Reeves Across America Honor Ride on Dec. 13 with wreath-laying at city cemeteries. Organizers asked to be added to the committee's event calendar.
The meeting adjourned at 1:10 p.m. on Nov. 4, 2025.
