Committee clears culvert replacement petition for Funks Grove Road District

County engineering staff said the existing 8-foot-by-4-foot box culvert is close to an intersection and narrow; the proposal would replace it with two 60-inch aluminum culverts and adjust the alignment to better match the waterways. "He [the township road commissioner] was looking to replace the box culvert — we're looking at making everything longer and more on a skew to line up the waterways a little bit better," county staff said.
Member Reeves moved the petition and Member Leffler seconded. The committee approved the petition by voice vote.
Staff did not report a contract award amount at the meeting; the action authorized the petition so the district can proceed with the replacement process.
