Mohave College celebrated a string of campus and community programs, opening with the grand opening of a 36,000-square-foot Advanced Manufacturing Training Center at the Kingman Airport Industrial Park. The college said the facility will serve as a statewide workforce accelerator in partnership with the Arizona Commerce Authority; the narrator said Governor Katie Hobbs attended the opening to recognize the college's leadership.
The college also highlighted a broad set of community-facing events and programs. Hundreds of K–12 students attended the Bighorn Trek 2025 at the Neal Campus in Kingman, where students toured academic programs and saw demonstrations, including a live fire-science demonstration that used hydraulic rescue tools to show emergency rescue techniques. The college said those hands-on activities aim to inspire careers in welding, nursing, robotics, fire science and other in-demand fields.
Mohave College noted local partnerships beyond K–12 outreach: a student computer club partnered with Kingman Public Works on a tech-recycling drive that collected nearly a ton of old electronics, and the college has expanded use of open educational resources (OER) to reduce textbook costs. The college urged prospective students to check program schedules and the online newsroom for more details.
The segment framed the AMTC as part of a regional workforce strategy and emphasized opportunities for students to obtain skills tied to local employers and regional economic growth. The college provided web links and contact points for program and enrollment information.
