Four candidates present to fill District 3 school board vacancy; vote set for Nov. 10

Theresa Crossland, raised and living in Montgomery County, said her priorities include school safety, early literacy intervention and mental‑health support for students. She recounted personal experiences with bullying and early reading struggles to explain her focus on early intervention.
Daryl Anderson highlighted his technology and public‑sector leadership background (IT roles with state agencies and municipal governments) and said he would work to modernize school communications and data systems to improve transparency and operations.
Catherine ("Kat") Texador emphasized experience in higher‑education student conduct, policy review and program development and said that community engagement and policy work would guide her approach to board service.
Commissioners did not vote at the informal meeting; the formal vote on appointments will take place Nov. 10 per the agenda notice.
