Board members used the Nov. 3 meeting to recap community outreach and resources. Vic Oliver reported he spoke with roughly 125 people while tabling at the summer farmers market and said placement on Main Street was an improvement. Members discussed the need for more visible, branded materials at tabling (a tablecloth with "City Sustainability Board" or similar), a sturdier sign, and options for fundraising or partnering with a nonprofit to obtain materials.
"I actually spoke to a 125 people, which is more than we've ever documented before," a board member said, describing outreach volume and suggesting branded materials would improve visibility and engagement.
Emma reviewed coalition resources from WLGCC including two 49-page playbooks (greenhouse-gas playbook and greening-the-grid playbook) that member municipalities can use as implementation templates. She also said Equinox Creative was hired to provide communications and social-media support and that the coalition has citywide energy data for 2022 2024 available for benchmarking.
Procedural action: Chair proposed tabling the municipal code chapter 14 post-construction stormwater management ordinance update because the board member who brought it (Alyssa Reinke) was not present. The motion to move that agenda item to the next meeting was made, seconded, and approved by voice vote; the transcript does not identify the mover or seconder by name.
The board scheduled a workshop in December to discuss SAB goals and set the next regular meeting for Dec. 1.
