Valley Center’s City Council on Nov. 4 approved a $589,503.03 construction agreement with Pearson Construction for the Prairie Lakes Phase 5 improvements and authorized the mayor to sign the contract.
Samantha Gareeb, representing ACH, told the council the project total is $589,503.03 and said Pearson Construction was the lowest bidder. She said the contractor plans to begin work in January, with a substantial completion date of May 15, 2026 and final completion on May 25, 2026.
Councilmember [unnamed] moved to approve the agreement and to authorize Mayor James Truman to sign; a second was recorded and the motion carried by voice vote.
The council did not record a roll-call tally in the meeting minutes; no amendments to the contract terms were discussed at the meeting. Staff indicated the bid approval followed an earlier selection process that identified Pearson as the successful bidder.
The council packet contains the contract and schedule; the city will proceed with the advertised timeline and coordinate inspection and permitting as the project approaches its January start.
