District reports strong turnout at Title I family nights and community partnerships

He said Franklin Township held its Title I event Oct. 9 with more than 200 students, parents and staff in attendance; activities included a fun run, a book fair, craft and STEM stations and a PTO fundraiser with funds returning to students. James Geddes held a K–1 event Oct. 16 with about 20 families represented, and Lincoln Elementary’s Oct. 9 event drew more than 70 families. Community partners on hand included SCAP, United Way, Head Start and Adams County Library.
McFarland told the board the events increased outreach, provided literacy supports and connected families with community resources. Board members praised the follow‑through on the district's comprehensive plan and asked what drove turnout; McFarland credited staff outreach and community partners.
