Lincoln — City officials told the Lincoln City Council on Nov. 3 that the city has received a CNM agreement from Union Pacific and that the Fifth Street project is scheduled for letting on Jan. 16, 2026.

"We got the CNM agreement from Union Pacific," the presiding officer said, and added, "as it stands now, Walt, we're on the January 16, 2026 letting." A staff member identified as Walt confirmed the date in the transcript.

The council also heard an announcement about a ribbon-cutting for the Taste of Lincoln Food Court at 600 North Kickapoo Street scheduled for Friday, Nov. 7 at 11 a.m.
