The Gateway School District board approved a slate of administrative resolutions including educational agreements, vendor contracts, and sponsorships, and selected Antonio Perez as the Pennsylvania School Boards Association (PSBA) Section W3 adviser.
Under administrative Section 8, the board approved agreements with local partners (including Wesley Schools and Holy Family), an ASK Speech Therapy agreement and virtual-tutoring services. In Section 9, the board accepted multiple donations and sponsorships for the 2025–26 school year with amounts listed by donor—notes included Spitzer Toyota ($10,000), Allegheny Health Network ($15,000 total over three years), and Evergreen FTO donating $40,250 toward playground equipment at Evergreen Elementary. Staff noted a district construction/removal contract for a new playground with a total cost of about $44,250, and that the Evergreen FTO donation was recorded in the district's Evergreen repair account.
Board members also reviewed two short candidate videos for the PSBA W3 section-advisor position and discussed which candidate could best advocate for districts that received little or no state funding. After comments weighing funding expertise and outreach, the board moved and passed a motion to select Antonio Perez as the section W3 adviser.
The approvals were passed by roll-call votes when requested. Staff said the district will coordinate the donation check delivery, oversee the playground installation through Facilities, and post information about approved partnerships and program changes once contracts are finalized.
