Donated UTV to be shared among Sheridan County emergency responders; commissioners praise community support

Sheridan County staff told commissioners Monday that a UTV purchased with funds donated to emergency management will be available to multiple emergency entities, including the sheriff—s office, search-and-rescue and local fire departments.
Staff said the purchase used donated funds designated for emergency management and that no county tax dollars were used. The vehicle is being stored at a sheriff—s facility and will be accessible to other emergency entities when needed. "This is all donated funds and we were trying to find a way that benefit more than just emergency management," a staff member said.
Commissioner Jennings and other commissioners thanked the community for supporting emergency-response capabilities and asked staff to publicize the donation to acknowledge donors. Sheriff Levi Dominguez recommended ensuring public messaging and sign-off follow established procedures so the county properly credits community contributors.
No formal action was required; commissioners directed staff to coordinate public acknowledgement and continue shared-access arrangements for emergency use.
