The Victor Central School District Board of Education formally inducted Kaylin Cordial, class of 2003, into the district’s Visual and Performing Arts Hall of Fame during its Oct. 16 meeting.
Assistant Superintendent for Instruction Karen Finter introduced the Hall of Fame’s purpose and presented Cordial before students, colleagues and community members. Senior Jillian Smith told the board that Cordial “brought such an amazing energy to our rehearsals and our shows,” crediting her with teaching students both performance and teamwork. A recorded message from 2025 graduate Kaylee Sheets described Cordial’s influence on students’ perseverance and personal growth.
In her remarks, Cordial thanked the district and the teachers who encouraged her early interest in music. “I’m filled with gratitude,” she said, adding that early music experiences taught her discipline and how “to truly listen, not just to music, but to the world around me.” Laura Brewer, a longtime music teacher, praised Cordial’s work raising the level of ensemble and classroom performance during her tenure.
Superintendent Timothy Terranova credited the Board of Education for funding and supporting the district’s arts programming and introduced the inductee, noting Cordial’s years of service and subsequent accomplishments in music education. The board and district staff celebrated the induction with applause and recognition from students and parents.
The board did not take formal policy action related to the induction; the Hall of Fame recognition was presented as part of the evening’s recognitions and campus news.
The district posted Hall of Fame nomination instructions on its website and encouraged community members to nominate future candidates.
