Tipton Humane asks adopters to submit Petco stories and urges community to buy gala tickets

Adrian Hall said the Tipton County Humane Society is participating in a Petco adopter-story campaign that could qualify the shelter for grants, including a possible $100,000 award. "Every time somebody who's one of our adopters submits a story ... it gives us an entry into the potential to win a $100,000 grant from Petco," Hall said. The shelter will issue a press release and is asking adopters to submit entries through the shelter's Facebook page; Hall said the organization has until September to collect submissions.

Hall also described Petco Love Lost, a national lost-and-found platform that uses image-matching and microchip numbers to link reported lost animals with found pets across platforms such as Nextdoor and Ring. "It will tell the person who found it if there is potential matches that they can then go review," Hall said, describing how the Shelter Love software integrates postings with Petco Love Lost to automate this process.

For fundraising, Hall said the shelter's principal annual fundraiser is the Winter's Tale gala on Nov. 15. Tickets go on sale Sept. 1, and the organization is seeking sponsors at several levels; admission-only tickets to the auction will be available for those who do not attend the full dinner. "Tickets go on sale September 1," Hall said.

Hall urged residents to follow the Tipton County Humane Society on Facebook for details about the Petco submission portal and gala sponsorships. He also asked for donations of supplies via the shelter's Amazon and Chewy wishlists and for volunteer support across a range of needs, from animal care to social media and grant-writing.
