Presenters said the tool will allow the district to follow up where residency appears uncertain and that the district may cancel the service by June 30 if it does not produce value.
During the discussion a committee member stated the district may be losing roughly $12,000 in state funding for each nonresident student that is counted in the district’s enrollment; that figure was presented as an estimate tied to state funding formulas. Board members framed residency verification as a measure to protect district resources and ensure funding aligns with actual resident enrollment.
No final procurement award was made during the meeting; staff were authorized to proceed with RFP and verification steps per the agenda and to return with details if necessary.
