John Radke, principal of Lewiston High School, presented a National Merit Program letter of commendation to student Hamdi Mohammed at the Lewiston School Committee meeting on Oct. 6.
Radke said the letter recognizes Hamdi’s high selection index score on the 2024 qualifying test and placed him among top entrants to the 2026 National Merit program. Hamdi briefly described a Vanderbilt summer research project studying structural biology and mutations linked to bladder cancer.
The committee took a photo opportunity to commemorate the recognition; no committee action was required.
