Rome — During its Oct. 8 meeting the City of Rome Common Council approved two amendments to Ordinance 9822 concerning the 2026 annual budget and then voted to table the ordinance to permit further departmental review.

Anderson moved to insert language approving the annual budget and capital improvement program for 2026; the amendment passed on a voice vote.
Councilors then amended the ordinance to include the public hearing date (Oct. 8, 2025). After both amendments were adopted, Anderson moved to table Ordinance 9822 as amended so councilors could meet with department heads and address budget and capital-project questions; the motion to table carried.
