The facilities presentation described district-wide work on HVAC, plumbing and boilers: replacements at Fallbrook, Johnny Appleseed, Samaset, Priest, Bennett Northwest and an in-progress boiler replacement at SkyView; LED lighting upgrades in most schools; added key-fob access, new cameras and bollards for building security; and replacement of building management systems (BMS) to standardize controls.
Facilities staff said three new CTE buses arrived this year and that those vehicles were purchased with ESSER funds. A $729,000 grant was cited for weatherization work at Samaset, and staff noted partnerships with National Grid and Guardian Energy for some projects. Facilities also reported new culinary equipment (CTE brick pizza oven) and improvements to playgrounds and parking at Lincoln portable buildings.
On routine business the finance subcommittee presented warrant batches (multiple warrant numbers and amounts were read into the record). The committee moved to approve the warrants; the motion passed by voice vote. The board also moved to declare a listed set of equipment obsolete (one item joked about as "Zamboni-like"); the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
The meeting included a motion to approve minutes from Sept. 2 (moved by Melissa, seconded by Greg) that committee discussion later characterized as approved with a 6-2 split referenced in discussion; two members were noted as dissenting in the minutes conversation. There were no contract awards or new capital appropriations approved at this meeting.
