Quincy licensing board approves four routine permits, accepts minutes and adjourns

The Quincy City Licensing Board on an undisclosed October meeting date approved four routine requests, accepted previous minutes and adjourned after a short set of hearings.

Theresa Tagney told the board the Thomas Crane Public Library at 40 Washington Street is seeking a one-day special-use liquor permit for its Crane Gothic Gala on Oct. 24 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. "This is an event that we've hosted probably a dozen times before," Tagney said, adding the event will be held indoors and serve only packaged snacks. A board member moved to approve the request and the board voted in favor by voice.

A representative for Historic New England, introduced in the record as Carla Rosenstein, described an event called "Colonel Quincy's Spyglass" at the Quincy House, listed in the record as 20 Muirhead Street, on Oct. 10 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Rosenstein said the program will include a porch toast with Break Rock Brewing Company's Peace Field beer to mark Revolutionary War–era anniversaries. A motion to grant the one-day liquor permit was approved by voice vote.
