Legal counsel reminded commissioners of the formal process: the commission cannot itself accept property maintained by the city and must forward a recommendation to City Council. Chair Trumper moved to recommend acceptance; Commissioner Beecher seconded and the roll call vote carried 5‑0.
The commission also noted that the item would be added to the collection’s Californiana area and that acceptance by City Council would be the final step.
