The Buckeye City Council unanimously approved the consent agenda, covering routine administrative items, by voice vote.
Following that action, a council member announced community events including the Buckeye First Friday market (first and third Saturdays, September through May), a bingo fundraiser tied to weekend hunting activities on Sept. 5, and several youth and veterans-related hunts at Robins Butte organized with the National Turkey Federation. The announcer described the bingo event as a fundraiser.
In the city manager’s inaugural report, the new city manager recognized Community Services advisory board chair Terry of Rabick as the Arizona Parks and Recreation Association volunteer of the year and said the recognition occurred at an awards banquet. The city manager also outlined Sept. 11 remembrance plans — a stair climb at Victory Stairs and a Patriot Day service at Fire Station 704 — and noted Miller Road paving work scheduled for Sept. 7–9. The manager thanked city employees who worked on Labor Day.
No council comments or additional future-agenda proposals were recorded and the meeting was adjourned.
