Board member raises governance concerns; chair denies contacting governor's office

He said a board member had circulated an alternate job description without bringing it to the full board, and that the same member "recently phoned the governor's office inquiring about having a…audit" and had threatened consequences when majority votes did not go their way.
Board Chair (speaker 1) responded directly to the accusations, saying, "I've never called the governor's office or any other entity either before or after, and have never threatened anybody." He reiterated that the superintendent submits job descriptions under state statute and that the position in question was presented to the board and approved by a 3–2 vote.
Mr. Bartles urged that board actions be brought to the full board and cautioned against unilateral steps that could intimidate staff. The chair asked members to follow statute and to allow the board process to run. No formal censure or disciplinary motion was made during the meeting.
