During the consent portion of the meeting, the Jackson County Legislature approved multiple routine procurement and settlement items.
The body adopted a settlement resolution approving payment to Azandu Agbasha represented by Myers Law Firm for $25,000, passed by roll call with nine yes votes. The legislature also approved a 15‑month contract with four 12‑month options for leasing golf carts and related equipment to M and M Golf Cars LLC at a cost not to exceed $32,756 under an existing government contract. That contract was approved on the record with one abstention and the remainder voting yes.
Other procurement items were introduced and assigned to committees, including contracts and term-supply awards for HVAC filters, automotive parts, pontoon boats and vehicle purchases for the sheriff’s office. Some items were held in committee for further review (for example, the Rock Island/Little Blue trail construction contract and certain chemical/salt supply contracts), while others were placed on the consent agenda for adoption or perfection.
Outcome: settlement and several procurement matters approved; several larger contracts were held for committee review.
