Margate commission approves bridge naming to honor Specialist Daniel J. Agami

The Margate City Commission unanimously approved a resolution on Aug. 20 supporting the naming of the State Road 7 bridge over Sample Road for Specialist Daniel J. Agami, in accordance with Florida House Bill 987.
Beth Agami, Daniel Agami’s mother, thanked the commission and said the recognition is meaningful because Daniel grew up in Margate and attended local schools. "The signing of this resolution brings us one step closer to making the bridge naming a reality," she told the commission.
Commissioners and members of the public praised Specialist Agami’s service. Mayor Schwartz said she spoke with Daniel’s brother and related a personal anecdote. The resolution directs placement of signs or markers by the Department of Transportation and is effective on the date specified in the resolution.
The resolution was moved, seconded and approved by roll call.
