South Kingstown hires Liam Lynch as facilities director; contract approved

The South Kingstown School Committee on Monday approved a contract for Liam Lynch to become the district’s director of facilities.
Superintendent Pedraza announced the hiring, saying Lynch brings “over 10 years of experience in property management from the private sector” and prior work as a regional facilities manager for Aramark at Providence Public Schools. Pedraza said Lynch’s “diverse skill set and knowledge … will serve the unique conditions and demands required of our director of facilities here at South Kingstown School District.”
The superintendent noted Lynch was not present at the meeting and thanked interim facilities director John Gould for stepping in during the transition. Chair Carol Vetter presided over the motion; a committee member moved approval and the motion passed on a voice vote.
The contract for Lynch was approved in open session after his selection was announced in executive session. The committee did not provide further financial or start-date details at the meeting.
Next steps: Lynch is expected to meet the public at the committee’s next scheduled meeting on the 26th, according to the superintendent’s remarks.
