Board accepts donated 2025 rescue truck for county Search & Rescue

He said search-and-rescue volunteers save lives and contribute an estimated 12,000 volunteer hours annually.
Donor contributions listed during the presentation included the Del Webb Foundation ($150,000), the Joshua Foundation ($125,000), Core Construction ($10,000), SAR volunteer donations (over $32,000), and other private gifts. The vehicle was custom-built through donated funds and grants; staff noted the unit is being completed and is expected to arrive from the manufacturer.
Board action: a motion to accept the vehicle donation passed unanimously. Supervisors thanked volunteers and highlighted the county's reliance on volunteer SAR operations for remote rescues.
