The city’s assistant city manager, Gillian Hayne, told the council the tribe submitted a land-into-trust application years ago and that the land was placed into trust on Jan. 10, 2025; federal review of the tribe’s gaming eligibility was temporarily rescinded in March 2025 and litigation is ongoing.
