The City of Crockett formally recognized employees who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces at its Nov. 3 council meeting. Speaker 3 said the city has been recognized by the Texas Workforce Commission as a veteran-friendly employer and identified by name several veteran employees across departments.
Mayor Ianthea Fisher read a proclamation noting that veterans bring leadership and dedication to public service and declaring November a month of recognition for veterans employed by the city. The presenter said: “Their service did not end when they took off the uniform. They carried that same discipline, courage, and dedication right here in the public service of the city.”
The presenter listed by name multiple employees (fire, police, public works, building inspection, code enforcement) and noted the city has 12 employee-veterans and one council member who served in the Navy; the presenter said over 20% of the city’s employees have served or are serving in the armed forces. The mayor presented commemorative proclamations and city pins; the transcript records no formal policy change or budget appropriation tied to the recognition.
