The Cornwall Central School District communications committee told the board it will support capital project outreach with a public forum planned for December and a community survey targeted for mid-November.
Bridal, reporting for the communications committee, said the committee's plan mirrors past capital project outreach: gather community input through a survey, then address those questions at a public forum. "We'll have a public forum in December," she said, and noted the committee intended to distribute the survey internally this week.
Bridal also presented a proposal for recurring board "office hours" before meetings to improve public access. The committee envisioned scheduled, managed sessions with rotating board members so no single member could dominate slots. Bridal said the sessions would likely be quarterly and "we'd have a schedule for the year so everybody can sign up for their day so, you know, it would be equitable in that way." Board members discussed offering a virtual option for those who cannot attend in person but agreed the sessions should not be recorded to YouTube to preserve participants'comfort.
The committee said it will bring a more detailed plan and survey to the board for discussion and formal agenda placement.
