At its Nov. 4 meeting, the Plan Commission of the City of West Bend approved a series of certified survey maps (CSMs), a downtown site plan and the final plat for a new subdivision.
City planning staff introduced six extraterritorial CSMs in the towns of Trenton, Barton and West Bend. The first two were 3‑lot CSMs on the east side of North River Road (one northern and one southern portion); staff confirmed right‑of‑way dedications (33 feet minimum, with a 17‑foot reservation to meet the official map) and recommended approval. Commissioners approved both by voice vote.
The commission also approved two one‑lot extraterritorial CSMs related to portions of the same farmstead near Wallace Lake Road and North Oak Road; staff noted both are outside the city sewer service area. A 3‑lot CSM at 3805 Schuster Drive in the town of Barton and a redivision CSM to combine lots for Bender Automotive at 4575 State Highway 33 were also approved; the Bender Automotive item carried one commissioner abstention after a familial connection was disclosed.
Staff presented a 2‑lot city CSM to create a parcel for PS Seasonings in the industrial park and to establish Forge Place road and cul‑de‑sac dedication; approval was granted with minor labeling corrections requested.
On downtown development, the commission approved a site plan and exterior alterations for Parrish Surveying & Engineering at 508 North Main Street. The project includes brick cleaning, siding replacement, new windows and doors, painting and the addition of awnings; the awnings will require a temporary grant of privilege from the clerk's office. Staff recommended approval with two listed conditions and the commission approved the site plan by voice vote.
The commission closed the meeting by approving the final plat and grading plan for Lakewood Farms Phase 1, a 26‑lot, two‑outlot single‑family subdivision on the east side of South Eighteenth Avenue; utilities and stormwater plans were approved and construction of utilities is underway.
Votes at a glance: • Approval of multiple extraterritorial CSMs (several 3‑lot and 1‑lot maps) — approved by voice vote. • CSM combining lots for Bender Automotive (4575 State Hwy 33) — approved; 1 abstention recorded. • City 2‑lot CSM for PS Seasonings (Forge Place) — approved with minor label corrections. • Parrish Engineering site plan (508 N. Main St.) — approved with two conditions; awnings require clerks' grant of privilege. • Final plat Lakewood Farms Phase 1 (26 lots) — approved with listed conditions.
The commission did not set new dates for any of these projects; next steps are standard submittals for permits, signage and any needed clerks' office actions for the awning privilege.
