Del City council approves property purchase, utility equipment, appointments and hunting ordinance

The Del City City Council and its associated authorities took several formal actions at the Nov. 3 meeting.
Economic Development Authority. The Del City Economic Development Authority approved a purchase agreement to acquire the property at 507 South Townsend Place from Business Telephone Systems Inc. for an amount not to exceed $100,000 and authorized the trust chair to sign the agreement.
Del City Municipal Services Authority (DCMSA). The DCMSA approved a budget amendment included on the consent docket and later approved the purchase, removal and replacement of a venturi valve at the city’s water facility for an amount not to exceed $20,350, awarding the work to Urban Contractors LLC and authorizing the trust manager or trust chair to endorse the contract.
City Council routine approvals. The council approved the consent docket (minutes and budget amendments), and approved an annual fire equipment agreement between Oklahoma County Board of Commissioners and the City of Del City for FY2026, authorizing the mayor to sign.
Bridge inspector selection. Council approved Resolution 11032025A selecting Walter P. Moore from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation’s prequalified engineering list to serve as Del City’s bridge inspector and authorized mayoral endorsement.
Appointments and resignations. The council accepted the resignation of Francisco Arrendondo from the Del City Urban Renewal Authority (motion carried; Councilman Tatum recorded an abstention). The council accepted the resignation of Kelly Wilbanks from the Del City Housing Authority and appointed JD Hawk to fill that vacancy.
Finance and abatements. The council approved Resolution 11032025B revoking and designating signers on the FNB Community Bank property-room account and ratified abatements totaling $11,878.56 for cleanup of previously abated properties (citing Del City code sections 13-106 through 13-114).
Ordinance on hunting. The council considered and approved Ordinance 1451, amending city code to prohibit the hunting of all birds within city limits and revising rules at Eagle Lake to prohibit hunting and trapping there. Councilman Dean successfully added a modification to exempt city employees, agents, contractors, or authorized military personnel acting in the scope of official duties for wildlife management, public safety, or property maintenance. The motion carried.
Votes. Most actions passed unanimously; the Arrendondo resignation recorded one abstention (Councilman Tatum). The meeting record shows roll-call votes for each motion.
