Council adopts ordinance changing advisory commission membership and approves sale of two city parcels

The Farmington City Council adopted two ordinances on final action during its Oct. 11 meeting. City Attorney McCall presented Ordinance No. 2025‑13‑79, an amendment to the Electrical Code Advisory Commission to allow an HVAC owner or representative to serve on the commission; council moved, seconded and the ordinance was adopted on final action.
McCall then presented Ordinance No. 2025‑13‑80, authorizing the sale of city‑owned land (identified as 301 and 401 Airport, described in staff comments as former Sage/host motel properties) to Trace Ninos, LLC. Assistant staff clarified the parcels’ location; councilor motioned and the council adopted the ordinance on final action.
The ordinances passed as final actions at the meeting; staff did not present additional deed terms or closing timelines during the council session. The council also approved the consent agenda earlier in the meeting, which included procurement and warrants that were handled by motion without separate discussion.
