The Loveland Arts Commission presented awards for its second utility box wrap contest during the city council meeting.
Katie Bergen of the Arts Commission described the contest’s goal to blend public spaces with local creativity and introduced the two winning designers. Caitlin Zinn Hammonds was recognized for a design entitled “Meet Jamie,” inspired by James Loveland; Bergen said Hammonds’ design uses vector art and includes a QR-code Easter egg. Bergen also presented Sophie Storer, a Loveland High School sophomore, whose design was praised for color, light and composition and is on display near Wall Street next to Union Savings Bank.
Council thanked the Arts Commission and the artists for contributing public art that reflects Loveland’s character.
