Procurement and budget: The commission authorized Municipal Order 2025-272 to accept bid 202615 for the FY26 street overlay project, recommending award to Scotty’s Contracting & Stone LLC in an amount not to exceed $1,999,995; staff said the work will cover approximately 12 miles of paving, asphalt repairs and 27 handicap ramp replacements. Ordinance BG2025-28 (Budget Amendment #1 for FY26) was approved to account for additional grants, donations, an arbitrage payment and an insurance settlement.
Code and appointments: The board voted to repeal Chapter 7 (cable communications) in Ordinance BG2025-29 following a recent franchise agreement with Spectrum. Municipal Order 2025-273 approved appointments of Kim Adwell and Scott Lindsey to the Bowling Green Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. The commission approved Ordinance BG2025-24 (classification pay schedule) on second reading and Ordinance BG2025-25 renaming Cypress Wood Lane to Gator Way (second reading; previously 5‑0).
Votes: Roll calls for these items were unanimous as recorded. Commissioners and staff thanked departing and incoming board members and appointees and urged public patience as projects proceed.
Next steps: Contracting and onboarding actions will proceed under staff oversight; the street overlay contractor and department staff will finalize schedules and notify neighborhoods as work begins.
