"This system allows us to tap into the camera systems on the school campuses and see in real time what's going on," the representative said, adding the funding will support software licensing, operations and maintenance for two more years.
Board members asked whether the program covers public and private schools. The presenter said Mutual Link is currently deployed only in public schools and that one district (BAUS) had not yet been integrated because of internal transitions; it can be added when the district is ready. The presenter also said the statewide effort originally provided a larger implementation award and that at least a dozen counties participate in similar programs.
The board moved and approved acceptance of the ADOA grant and the renewal of the Mutual Link agreement. The board recorded the motion as "carried" in the meeting; the transcript does not list individual tallies.
The renewal is fully funded by the ADOA grant, the presenter said, and requires no local match.
