Board raises January sales tax supplement for professional and support employees

Finance staff presented the proposed figures and said, "for professional staff, the supplement goes from 706 to 1,010. And then for support employees, it goes from 501 to 715," and noted the district believes it can sustain the increase "for the next 7 years if all things stay stable." The motion was moved to the full board and carried by voice vote.
Board members responded positively to the change in supplements during discussion, calling it "good news" for staff. The board did not specify changes to base pay or other compensation schedules during the public discussion; the change described applies to the January sales tax supplement only.
