At the end of the Oct. 28 meeting Councilman Tajon Johnson made a motion to go into closed session under statutory authority (referenced as section 3‑305) to discuss two matters: (1) disciplinary action concerning the conduct of a member of a board or commission, and (2) negotiating strategy and contents of a bid or proposal related to the facilities master plan contractor. Councilman Paul Guttenberg seconded the motion. The town clerk conducted a roll call; all councilmembers present (Councilman Paul Guttenberg, Councilman Patrick McCormick, Councilman Gregory Sampson, Councilman Tajon Johnson and Mayor Janine James) voted aye and the motion passed.
The council recorded the reason for closure as consideration of disciplinary action and negotiation parameters for an upcoming contract. No substantive deliberations on those closed matters occurred in open session; minutes or actions from the closed session will be recorded in accordance with state open‑meetings law.
