Attorney Drew Tilden represented the applicant and described plans for small live acts, DJs and occasional live podcast recordings within the existing building, using the restaurant’s sound system and with hours mirroring restaurant operations (roughly 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.). The applicant provided a floor plan and a parking map showing shared parking with a nearby commercial facility.
Planning recommended approval; neighborhood representatives said concerns about sound and parking had been addressed during prior meetings and provided a letter of support. Board members concluded the live entertainment would not create impacts above those inherent to the use elsewhere in the C‑1 district and approved the conditional use, noting operational conditions described in testimony (sound kept within the building, use of nearby parking, and hours consistent with the restaurant) would be expected to mitigate impacts.
The board instructed staff to draft a resolution reflecting the vote and the operational parameters discussed; the applicant may proceed with permit applications after the written resolution is issued.
