Council approves two-year, on-call traffic engineering agreement with Transpo Group USA Inc.

City Engineer Jake Linge presented a request to authorize the mayor to negotiate and execute an on-call traffic engineering agreement with Transpo Group USA Inc. Linge said the on-call contract will allow the city to contract task orders for signal timing, intersection safety reviews, traffic impact analysis and other technical needs and is budgeted from a professional services line.
"We selected Transpo Group; they had a proposal that spoke to an understanding of Wenatchee's needs," Linge said, noting the firm has a lean, experienced team and is already working with agencies on the east side of the state. He said the contract would be for two years with a total not-to-exceed of $100,000.
Council member Atkinson moved to authorize the mayor to negotiate with Transpo Group USA Inc. for on-call traffic engineering services and to authorize the mayor to sign a contract on behalf of the city; the motion was seconded and passed by voice vote.
What happens next: the mayor will finalize a negotiated contract, and staff will issue task orders as needed within the approved $100,000 budget.
