Cody Pennington, assistant public guardian and veteran service officer, asked the board to approve retroactive certificates of compliance for the county subvention (CalVet) and the Medi‑Cal Cost Avoidance program.
Pennington said the agreements and certificates are required under California military and veterans code provisions and that all monies received must be allocated to CVSO salaries and expenses. "The Veterans Service Office respectfully requests the board approve the certificate of compliance with the county subvention program and the certificate of compliance for the Medi Cal cost avoidance program," Pennington said, noting the funds are reflected in the FY 2025–26 final budget in the amount of $110,000.
Supervisor Rusty Robinson moved approval; the motion passed on roll call. Pennington told the board the certificates were retroactive due to delays in receiving agreements and that county counsel had reviewed them "as to form."
