Board authorizes $224,350 Avaya telephone maintenance contract to avoid service lapse

Christopher Verich, information security officer with Kings County Information Technology, asked the board to approve a one‑year maintenance agreement with Communication Resources Incorporated (CRI) to maintain the county's Avaya telephone system.
Verich said the current maintenance agreement expires Aug. 31 and the proposed contract covers 09/01/2025–08/31/2026, including licenses, help‑desk support, hardware troubleshooting, remote administration and configuration assistance. "The total cost of this agreement is $224,350," he said, adding that the funding is included in the FY 2025–26 proposed final budget under budget unit 195500 and that departments are billed monthly through IT rates.
Supervisor Joe Neves moved approval; the motion carried on roll call. Verich said the contract is intended to prevent any lapse in telephone-system support and to authorize the purchasing manager to sign the purchase order as needed.
