Council asked to ratify Island Crossing Subarea Plan contract amendment; budgeted funds remain available, staff says

Planning staff informed the council that the Island Crossing Subarea Plan contract with Maker's Architecture and its amendment were signed administratively but never formally ratified by council. “The first amount was for the $2.38, $2,238,908 50¢. And then we added the 90,000 for the completion of the EIS and planned action,” Planning staff (Amy) said. She told council the project was included in prior budget years and that current budget allocation should cover outstanding invoices; staff estimated about $106,000 remains available to cover additional invoices and pledged not to exceed the budget.
Amy apologized for the oversight and asked the council to formally approve the contract and amendment. Councilmembers accepted the explanation and confirmed that the department will not let spending go over the remaining budgeted amount. The council did not take a formal roll-call adoption vote in the workshop transcript; staff said they will proceed with bringing the contract for formal approval as required.
