Fire: The fire chief requested authorization to list Fire Squad 1 (a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD 4x4) for sale on GovDeals with a $15,000 reserve. The chief noted the vehicle’s blue-book value is about $24,000 but cited heavy mileage, body issues and drilled holes as reasons for the reserve price.
Staff certification: City Recorder Gina Jones updated the council on her certification progress. Jones said she began the recorder role in late September 2023, has completed about 108.5 training hours (100 required) and has submitted her application to the state for review; she expects additional credits from an upcoming September conference if needed.
Grant: Public works/staff requested a resolution to apply for the annual Public Entity Partners Safety Grant (a $4,000 program that is typically reimbursed for about $2,000 in eligible expenses) to cover safety items such as boots and fire-extinguisher checks.
Adjournment: Councilwoman Thomas moved to adjourn and Councilman Robertson seconded; the meeting adjourned following a voice vote in which the chair called for 'Aye' and no opposition was recorded.
